Roy Guthrie

Mr. Guthrie has experience in the banking industry and also has extensive financial, audit and accounting experience. He served as an Executive Vice President and the CFO of Discover Financial Services since 2005 until April 11, 2011, Treasurer from January 2009 to April 11, 2011 and Principal Accounting Officer until April 11, 2011. Mr. Guthrie served as Chief Accounting Officer and Controller of Discover Financial Services since February 2009. Prior to joining Discover, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of CitiFinancial International, Ltd., from September 2000 to July 2004. Mr. Guthrie served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of CitiCapital from 2000 to 2001. For 22 years, from 1978 to 2000, he held various positions with Associates First Capital Corporation. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Associates First Capital Corporation from March 1996 to September 2000 and its Corporate Controller from 1989 to 1996. He was employed at Citigroup, Inc. Mr. Guthrie served as Senior Executive Vice President at Associates First Capital Corporation from February 1998. He served as Executive Vice President of Associates First Capital Corp. from June 1995 to February 1998 and as Senior Vice President, Comptroller and Chief Accounting Officer from December 1991 to June 1995.  He has been a Director of One Main Holdings, Inc. since December 2012, Nationstar Mortgage Holdings Inc. since 2012, LifeLock, Inc., since October 2012 and Synchrony Financial since 2014. Mr. Guthrie served on the Board of Directors of Discover Bank from June 2006 to January 2012. He was a Director of Associates for First Capital Corporation from February 1998 to September 2000. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Hanover College and an M.B.A. from Drake University.
